a Bühner suture or Flessa closure.
This realistic suture pad features a built-in vulvar cleft and labia,
perfectly mimicking the outer genitalia of small ruminants. A lifelike anus is incorporated in the model, enabling
learners to practice all steps of vaginal closures (i.e. after a uterine prolapse) including perforation control
after the procedure. Our suture pads are reusable, tear-resistant and retain their shape and texture even after
repeated use. Our practical pad holder (S) can be used to mount suture pads in a vertical or a horizontal position,
as required.

This video demonstrates the application of a Buhner´s suture in our vaginal suture pad - sheep! Buhner´s suture
are a surgical therapy for a vaginal or uterine prolapse in ruminants. After the manual replacement of the
prolapsed organs, the vagina is closed by the Buhner´s suture to prevent a renew prolapse. The suture should be
placed completely subcutaneous and it is important to avoid an internal perforation of the rectum or vagina. A
cotton swab ist placed underneath the bow tie to avoid pressure and allow blood circulation.
